    Quarter Taken: Summer 2022 In-Person
    Grade: A-

Professor Tsiang definitely teaches this class with more of an emphasis on the programming portion of the course, and less focus on the statistical applications of R. Either way the class is very manageable if you go to Office Hours. Professor Tsiang was always extremely helpful with any questions I had, and had a genuine concern for my learning.

The homework’s are very difficult and take a lot of time.

Was below the mean on both midterms but still ended with an A- due to the curve at the end of the quarter

Amazing professor. This class is a bit tuff if you don't know much about coding. However, you will definitely come out knowing the introduction of coding and will probably enjoy doing it

Prof. Mike cares a lot about students’ mental health and thus is lenient with grading, which is very nice. He provides all written material you need so there’s no need to buy a textbook. The pdf notes he posts are very detailed and helpful. We were allowed 5 cheat sheets on the exams, as well as a rubber duck. The professor really cares about you as an individual, which makes this class very fun and pleasant.

Dr. Mike was a great professor. Although the homework was challenging, it greatly prepared me for stats 102a (the next R class). The lectures and the notes were clear, I still look back at some of those notes because of how helpful they are.

As long as you try on the homework and worry about learning, the grade will follow!! He curved so you are likely to get an A- or better at the end.

    Quarter Taken: Spring 2023 In-Person

Hes a great professor, I just didn't practice enough. I always got exam grades below the mean but ended up with an A-. He's super generous with curving!

Mike explains R very clearly. In fact, this class might have actually taught me, someone who's really bad at coding, how to use R. I even thought of taking more R classes because of Mike. He curves the exams because he doesn't want us to worry about the grades. For our quarter we have an online final but two in-person midterms, but I'm pretty sure they're usually all in-person.
