Introduction to concepts of modern physics necessary to understand solid-state devices, including elementary quantum theory, Fermi energies, and concepts of electrons in solids. Discussion of electrical properties of semiconductors leading to operation of junction devices. Letter grading.

    The lectures were very stale as the professor mainly just read off of lecture slides not explaining much detail. Especially with the formulas used he would show the derivation and not explain how to implement or show examples of implementing formulas and solving problems.
