Chemical equilibria in gases and liquids, acid-base equilibrium; phase changes; thermochemistry; first, second, and third laws of thermodynamics; free energy changes; electrochemistry and its role as energy source; chemical kinetics, including catalysis, and reaction mechanisms. P/NP or letter grading.
