Research in Black Life, Institutions and Culture III: Comparative Black Studies Research Perspectives and Methods

Seminar, three hours. Limited to students enrolled in Bunche fellows research program. Covers voluminous, complex materials in relatively short period of time. Operates as like graduate-level, professional seminar, requiring students to critically assess materials and determine which research perspectives, methods, and findings relate most directly to their own research projects. Students are expected to present thoughtful, detailed, creative critical analyses of texts and ideas in written and oral communication. They are expected to share from their ongoing research projects in order to benefit from constructive, class feedback. Collaborative, group work is essential as we build supportive learning community. P/NP or letter grading.
