Domestic Speculation: Race, Gender, and American Home

Seminar, three hours. Requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. First/second years preferred. Exploration of how domestication--as achieved through spaces, materials, and representations of home--has been historically enmeshed with racialized and gendered systems designed to keep certain groups subordinate and others in control of society's resources and means of (re)production. Letter grading.
