Introduction to Engineering Design: Electrocardiogram

Lecture, 90 minutes; laboratory, 90 minutes; outside study, three hours. Students learn and use concepts and techniques in electrical circuit design and analysis, cardiac electrophysiology, biophysics, microcontrollers, and computer programming. Students work in teams to design, construct, and test circuit boards capable of measuring human electrocardiograms by capturing data with microcontroller, with computer analysis and display. Students present their designs orally and in writing. Letter grading.

Obligatory not a review for the professor. Would definitely recommend taking this class! It's not much of a time or work investment, and I learned a lot about Arduinos and general electrical engineering stuff. You can pretty much do anything that you want for the final extension project as long as it's interesting, so you can pick something you're comfortable with or something you want to learn more about for it. The students leading the class were very understanding and helpful.
