The best and the easiest GE I've ever taken! Great course materials and minimum workload. Definitely recommend if you need a GE!!

    Quarter Taken: Winter 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A

This was the first time this course was offered, so things might change still! I really enjoy this class though since I am not doing the major/minor, I prioritize my other classes more. This class is great if you are passionate about public health, though I can see it being a bit boring if you're not that interested. The professor and TA's are very passionate and really encourage discussion/students to explore their interests.
The course is structured a bit strangely in that the lectures are not really about the course content - it's more about the public health field in general + some of the professor's interests. Many guest lecturers come to talk about their experience in public health rather than having the professor lecture on content slides. (He also has one lecture set out for student's choice of topic!) But the tests are solely based on the textbook so I found that a bit jarring, though still really cool as you get to learn from actual public health professionals. Clickers everyday and textbook required, with a zoom hybrid option available if you're sick. The group project is a group presentation that you will present during a lecture section. Assignments/exams so far were not that difficult (though I suspect the rubrics will change as this was the first class)
