Subject matter for this class is extremely interesting but it gets pretty technical. Exams can cover pretty specific details about different symptoms/treatments/etc. of various disorders but it is very cool to learn about the factors behind conditions.

Tiffany Ho was a pretty organized professor, her exam questions mainly come from her lectures. Occasionally she will add random facts that she says in lecture to the exams which is a bit unpredictable but if you study and memorize far enough in advance it will be ok. Her exams make up most of the grade breakdown with a few quizzes and some extra credit so you will have to do well on them to get an A in the class. It is definitely doable. It was fairly interesting, very basic bio knowledge and abnormal psychology.

I had no interest in the subject matter, so I did not enjoy the class much but the material was well presented. I was a bit disappointed with the "biological bases" portion of the content and wish we could have gone more in depth; we covered neurotransmitters, basic neuroanatomy, genetics and epigenetics, and the biology of addiction.
Because of the nature of the subject, you will be memorizing lots of symptoms, drug names, and treatment options, so flash cards are recommended. Exams were challenging but the professor gave the class extra points to make up for our initial low means. Overall, I recommend the class if you're interested in clinical psychology or if no other column B classes are open.

I liked the content of this class, but I found the professor's lectures to be a little boring, as she just read off of slides which were densely packed with text. The exams were all multiple choice, and consisted of a combination of questions that were either common sense, or something super detailed mentioned one time in lecture. Also, there were two midterms and a final, but you only keep two out of three of those test grades, so if you do well on both of the first midterms, you don't have to take the final.

Class was presented through slides. Lectures were very mundane but exams were straightforward.
