20th-Century Russian Literature, 1890 to 1929

Lecture, three hours. Course 213A or 293A is required for MA (literature). Lectures and readings in major literary trends of modernist period such as decadence, symbolism, futurism, acmeism, and ornamental school. Analysis of representative works by Blok, Belyj, Khlebnikov, Pasternak, Platonov, and others. S/U or letter grading.
