Introduction to major fields of inquiry and debate in Islamic studies (e.g., exegesis, Hadith, law, theology, Sufism). Focus on selected topics of debate such as nature of God, jihad, hijab, or pilgrimage. Concurrently scheduled with course C151. Letter grading.
