FTV 114 Film Genres has different professors each quarter and the quarter on sci-fi with Prof. McDonald is hard. I didn't fully comprehend most of the readings, yet quizzes (30%), papers (30%), and finals (20%) all require a good understanding of the readings. Even my TA admitted that the readings were too hardcore for undergrads. So I thought I would end up with a B or worse. However since I got full marks for attendance/participation and quizzes, and studied REALLY hard for the final, I eventually earned myself an A. My advice is to check the readings when you take Film Genres and if you find them too hard, take it PNP or just drop it and wait for a different Film Genres class.
