This class is very easy and fun, even if you don’t like music that much or have never written songs before. I can’t say you’ll learn that much (unless you do the readings which aren’t required and are not really discussed), but it’s also only once a week and you spend a good portion working on actually writing music (there’s a group song project and a final song project). Definitely recommend
Absolutely loved this class! I felt like the biggest takeaway was the burst of inspiration it made me feel to create. The environment of students is so welcoming and nonjudgmental, and Amy encourages you to create in ways that are true to yourself and your own unique style. By far one of my favorite classes at UCLA.
