    Quarter Taken: Spring 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A

Jarred Brewster is one of the most intellectually inspiring grad students I've ever met, almost purely because of his eloquence and obvious passion for the subject matter, which itself was honestly far more interesting than anything else I learned about in the previous two quarters of this cluster. We essentially read selected sci-fi pieces every week and then talked about it. (or more like, listened to Jarred ramble on for a couple hours. but he's always got something substantial to say, so it was a treat.) There's a final paper that I had a ton of fun writing because you get to choose your own sci-fi work to analyze. While some of the readings are LENGTHY, I don't think he actually expected us to read them in full, and just wanted us to familiarize ourselves with the basic concepts and premises so that we could discuss in class. Overall, amazing course, would take again if I could.
