Lasers and Photonic Devices
Lecture, four hours; recitation, one hour; outside study, seven hours. Enforced requisite: course 170A. Coverage of laser physics, related photonic devices, and applications of lasers. Topics include resonators, thermal radiation, Einstein coefficients, optical amplification, semiconductor lasers, optical modulation and detection. Letter grading.
