Professor Firstenberg is a great lecturer. Exams were very fair, and the TAs were really helpful as well. For labs, I recommend going to your TA's office hours to clarify any concepts/confusion. But overall this class was a pretty easy class.
Easy class, I didn't really put a lot of effort and managed to get an A. I think as long as you understand the material you'll do well
Lectures were unclear to the point Professor Firstenburg had to revisit a concept for 3 lectures straight instead of just 1. Each time, she would say, "I guess people are still confused about this," and would give the exact same lecture that was not illuminating. In addition to the content being dry, it was tough. However, it is a required class, and you will get through it, but it definitely was not pleasant.
This course is very straightforward. Classes are recorded so you can review the things later. They put alot of emphasis on the lab sections, but attendance is not required. You can honestly get by looking over the slides and learning that way since most of the topics are quite intuitive if you've taken some stats or read research before.
Didn't need the textbook. For lab assignments, stick closely to the examples given on the lab slides as well as the rubric. Make sure you understand the lecture material as the exam questions are application based and can be tricky if you're not careful.
As long as you go to lectures there should be no problem
