Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Limited to Public Health majors. Not open for credit to students with credit for course 100A. Introduction to basic concepts in biostatistical analysis, presentation of data, and biostatistical aspects of design of public health studies. Special emphasis on application of biostatistical concepts to public health issues. Interpretation and communication of biostatistical findings is stressed. Focus on concepts and applications rather than mathematical theory. Letter grading.
