Psych 20A is an easier coding class compared to CS and PIC series, both because of it's about Matlab and because it doesn't have exams. However, as someone who cannot code at all, I do find it a bit challenging. I found study groups and office hours extremely helpful. Labs weren't too helpful for me but I think it depends on the TA.
Professor Frane is the best professor. He really wants you to succeed. He provides many resources to succeed.
Class is easier than other coding classes but you still need to put in work for assignments. You also need to attend half of the discussion for credit.
this class is completely homework based off of 10 weekly HWs as well as some opportunities for extra cred including SONA studies and 0.1pt for every discussion attended. i stopped going to lecture after the first few because he uploads the notes as a pdf and would just refer to that to get the homework done each week. they definitely ramped up in difficulty but still manageable. sections were a doozy and i only showed up to get the extra cred. overall a pretty chill class and it was really nice to not have to worry about exams.
Easiest computer science course I have taken while at UCLA. Only grades are homework grades which the lab sections and notebooks prepare you for! No final, no midterm, and attendence is not mandatory with all classes being recorded.
