Acquisition of skills essential for success in graduate school and academia more broadly, including transition to graduate school, writing, manuscript reviewing, grant writing, teaching and mentoring, academic job market, job negotiating, and giving job talks. Involves combination of guest speakers, lectures, discussions, readings, written exercises, and practical experience. S/U or letter grading.
