If you need to fulfill your Visual and Performing Arts GE, this is a great course to take. Very interesting topic, but not a lot of work required. The professor was very accommodating during the TA strike and made everything credit/no credit.
AMAZING EASY CLASS. The only relatively "hard" part of the class is the weekly listening guides which weren't hard, just time consuming. Once you know how to write the first one, all the others are exactly the same and you can use the same musical terminology. TAKE THIS CLASS! I actually grew a lot as a casual music listener. The TA Kristen was incredibly fair and accommodating as well
This class was actually engaging. She was very nice and passionate. Attendance was not mandatory, most people went day 1 and then never went back. However discussion was mandatory. You had three days after the due date to turn in your work (except listening journals). The class wasn't super hard, but it was very tedious. Work was due every week sometimes multiple times a week. Even when there was major holidays it was still due. The most annoying thing was all discussions were on Friday.
Very straightforward class with listening assignments and short papers
