Research Methods and Effective Communication in Environmental Health Sciences

Lecture, two hours. Prepares doctoral students in environmental health sciences and related fields for skills needed to undertake dissertation. Skills including performing literature searches, designing research study, proposing specific aims, forming testable hypotheses, completing Institutional Review Board (IRB) application, choosing data collection methods, data management, analysis, and interpretation; and writing scientific paper and presenting research results. Students complete manuscript for submission to peer-reviewed journal. S/U or letter grading.
