Research Applications in Genetic Counseling
Lecture, two hours. Enforced requisite: course 411. Limited to Genetic Counseling students. Second of two-course series. Practical hands-on approach to conducting research. Offers more focused discussion on specific aspects of study design and sampling, elements of developing and using instruments to measure variables of interest, criteria for systematic literature review, appropriate univariate and multivariate analyses, and interpretation and report writing. Focus on skills students need to develop and conduct their capstone projects and research in genetic counseling. Students brainstorm ideas for their capstone project, develop research question, and submit research proposal for final project. Letter grading.
