Applied Methods for Improvement/Implementation Science

Lecture, four hours. Planning and management of improvement programs in current work of students and future roles as change agents and leaders of healthcare systems. Training in skills and analytic methods for applying improvement science in clinical settings and health systems. Completion of improvement projects that demonstrate student competence in improvement science. Emphasis on case studies and applications so students gain skills in improvement project design and implementation. Analyses of cases, individual improvement projects, and class discussions to allow students to apply this knowledge to organizational examples. Letter grading.
