Heavy courseload but interesting material!
Professor Baker is a truly engaging lecturer—there was never a dull moment in this class. However, I definitely would not recommend this as a GE to non-humanities majors. The concepts you go over are pretty complex, and the readings are very dense. Unless you are deeply interested in this subject already, I would consider it one of the more challenging lower-div classes I've taken as an art history major.
Baker is very passionate about his teaching. It engages the viewer students. The readings are long but I skimmed through them. The grade break down is 5 assignments each worth 20%: 2 essays, midterm, final, and discussion participation.
