As someone with a preference for modern and contemporary art, Northern Renaissance was a surprisingly enjoyable class for me. Harwell is a bit of a monotonous lecturer, but his classes become more and more engaging as you grow accustomed to his teaching style. I highly recommend reading the textbook—all of the questions on the midterms and final are directly based on the assigned readings.
