Lecture, three hours. Requisite: Korean 101C or Korean placement test. Designed to improve reading skills for students who have studied Korean to advanced level, and enhance their understanding of Korean culture and society. Covers Korean academic texts (book chapters, journal articles, reviews, and primary sources) on various issues of modern Korean literature, history, philosophy, religions, economy, and politics. P/NP or letter grading.
