Learning in Biological and Artificial Neural Networks

Lecture, three hours. Requisite: course 115 or M117C. Limited to juniors/seniors. Introduction to fundamental principles of brain-inspired computing. Analysis of how biological and artificial neural networks learn to solve problems by fitting models to data. Review of how advances in artificial intelligence help us to better understand the brain and nervous system. P/NP or letter grading.
