It an easy GE. Although lectures and readings can be content packed, I enjoyed the class. The assignments are pretty easy although participation is part of our grade so attend discussion sessions. There 3 three page essays to do but it mostly analysis with no need to cite so they pretty easy.

Michael Berry is the nicest teacher at UCLA. Although his Canvas and slides were a bit disorganized, his teaching more than made up for it. He's kind and has a real passion for Chinese culture. No midterms, 3 essays, and canceled the final during the strike.
