Yao laoshi is a very enthusiastic person and really cares about her students learning the language. Attendance is required because you will need to complete in-class assignments that practice the things taught during lecture.
yao laoshi is a very engaging lecturer who cares a lot about her students! she takes the time to get to know each student, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. the class itself is pretty straightforward and is like any other language class. the workload isn't too bad, usually consisting of 1 assignment per week and 2 scripts per quarter that are read aloud in front of your discussion group (1 is a group project, 1 is individual). the midterm basically tests everything you learn in the first half of the class, and the final tests the second half of the class (not cumulative). i really enjoyed taking this class!
