    Grade: A

Pretty chill class, but learning curve if you aren't a strong public speaker. Class definitely helped me improve.

    Quarter Taken: Winter 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A

You are graded on your speeches. Go meet with him after class about your speeches. He will tell you what to do to improve, if you listen to his notes and apply what he tells you to the next speech, you will do fine. I am not a good public speaker - he bases your grade on improvement! I was terrified because I was honestly a terrible public speaker, but he encouraged me to improve and I did try to apply what I learned from him after every speech, and that's how I ended up with an A.

    Quarter Taken: Spring 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A+

This was genuinely the best class I have taken at UCLA. The class is based on 3 speeches and one final speech. If you love public speaking, this is the class for you…even if you don’t, Professor Hurwitz creates a positive and encouraging environment in the class that will allow you to feel confident as a public speaker by the end of the quarter. If you are considering being a Comm major, take this class with Professor Hurwitz— I seriously cannot recommend it enough!
