Earthquake fundamentals, including plate tectonics, fault types, seismic waves, and magnitude scales. Characterization of earthquake source, including magnitude range and rate of future earthquakes. Ground motion prediction equations and site effects on ground motion. Seismic hazard analysis. Ground motion selection and modification for response history analysis. Letter grading.
