Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Preparation: one philosophy course. Examination of theories of race and racism and intersection of race with other social structures. Topics may include metaphysics of race, social construction, racial identity, racial injustice, foundations of racial solidarity, and relationships between race and ethnicity, race and class, and race and gender. P/NP or letter grading.
