    Quarter Taken: Fall 2021 Online
    Grade: C+

Do not take this class. It’s only a midterm, a paper, and a final. Nothing makes any sense and they grade ridiculously hard. Avoid it if you can.

    Quarter Taken: Spring 2022 In-Person
    Grade: A-

Notoriously hard class but it is doable if you have the mindset to put in the work. I honestly learned more in this class than most of the other courses I have taken at UCLA. But the professor and all the TAs are super subjective so you'll get either a C or A depending on if they like your work.

Make sure to notes on everything Suman says. Be super diligent with the readings.

    Quarter Taken: Fall 2022 In-Person
    Grade: B+

For an entry-level comm course, this class was incredibly overloaded with content.
I actually LOVED the content and thought the lectures were fascinating. I did all the readings, participated in the section, and somehow got a B+ (for reference, this is my lowest grade @ UCLA).

The exams (1 midterm worth 40-45 points and final worth ~40 points) were inequitable, to the extent that out of the dozens of articles we were assigned, the questions would ask for a very specific detail from 1 of the 20 readings that were mentioned once on page 13, for instance. I personally found that the questions were more so "gotcha" questions and not truly reflective of if you read the article.

e.g., I should not be asked what type of satellite was used in 1965, especially if it isn't pertinent to the point of the article, being the transition from cable to the internet.

Overall, I loved the content of this class and found it highly engaging, but did not feel my work was equitably reflected in the grading scheme and exam format.

    Quarter Taken: Winter 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A

This class is definitely time consuming, but straightforward. The lectures are interesting. Definitely take thorough notes.

    Quarter Taken: Spring 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A

This class can be really brutal but the content is easy just do all the work and you'll be fine
