Examination of ancient goddesses and heroines--European, Neolithic, Near Eastern, Celtic, Scandinavian, Balto-Slavic, Indo-Iranian, and Greco-Roman--using translations of ancient texts, archaeological evidence, and feminist methodology in order to discover implications of ancient patriarchy on modern society.
