    Quarter Taken: Winter 2022 In-Person
    Grade: A

Light course load and easy assignments. The TAs were very engaging and knowledgeable.

    Quarter Taken: Winter 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A

This class is one of the ultimate blow off GE's. The only actually mandated attendance is at your weekly discussion section, where your TA will go through different exercises that teach you about rhythm. The concert reports and weekly journal entries are very easy, and the concerts that I went to were enjoyable.

    Quarter Taken: Winter 2023 In-Person
    Grade: A+

The lectures did not take attendance however she did not submit recordings so it was helpful to go. Every week there was a mini writing journal assignment but fairly easy if you at least just went to at least one of the lectures during the week to have information to write on. There were no exams and the discussions were mandatory because they took attendance but super chill. Overall I really liked the class it was on the easy side but also entertaining as she would bring in performers during class.

    Quarter Taken: Winter 2024 In-Person
    Grade: N/A

Class used to be good, now attendance is mandatory. Every class missed is a letter grade down, as well as discussion, and you have a total of 2 excused absences for lecture, and 1 for discussion. The TA's are nice, but the lectures are so incredibly boring unless you enjoy listening to intuit throat singing.

I would avoid at all costs if you don't like very very non traditional music.
