First of five clinical practica designed to prepare family nurse practitioners with knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to assume role of primary healthcare provider for families and individual patients across lifespan. Use of family-focused framework of care for those who experience common acute and chronic illness, developmental transitions, and health problems. Emphasis on health promotion, maintenance, and risk reduction interventions across wide range of diverse populations. Focus on context of community, cultural awareness, and practice in interdisciplinary teams. Students complete minimum of 80 direct clinical hours. Letter grading.
