Introduction to Materials Characterization B (Electron Microscopy)
(Formerly numbered 111.) Lecture, four hours; outside study, eight hours. Characterization of microstructure and microchemistry of materials; transmission electron microscopy; reciprocal lattice, electron diffraction, stereographic projection, direct observation of defects in crystals, replicas; scanning electron microscopy: emissive and reflective modes; chemical analysis; electron optics of both instruments. Concurrently scheduled with course C211. Letter grading.
