Lecture, three hours. Enforced requisite: course 102A or Russian placement test. Discussion and composition, with emphasis on vocabulary development and review of selected grammar topics. Readings in fiction and nonfiction, films, and videos, and use of Internet. May be taken independently and may be repeated for credit. P/NP or letter grading.
