Lecture, three hours; laboratory, three hours. Recommended requisite: course 110. Survey of origin and evolution of vertebrates through examination of fossil record. Focus on fossil record of tetrapods, with emphasis on anatomical and physiological transformations in amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Letter grading.
