From Vaudeville to Standup Comedy

Studio, three to four hours. Exploration of many aspects of comedy using American vaudeville traditions, acts, and performers as historical base to experience importance of rhythm, timing, delivery, speech, and body language in all styles of comedy, to find value of improvisation/imagination as well as innovative writing skills in all comic forms, to discover how comedy draws from so many art forms, including music/songs, dance, storytelling, clowning, magic, design, and tumbling/stunts, and to build overall confidence/ease in comic performance skills.
