Introduction to history of architecture and urbanism in Americas, from fabled cities of Aztec empire to barrios of 21st-century Los Angeles and Miami. Emphasis on role of cities in Latina/Latino experience and uses of architecture and city planning to forge new social identities rooted in historical experiences of conquest, immigration, nationalization, and revolution.
