Exploration of relationships among and between different revolutionary currents--political, economic, and aesthetic--in British Romantic period, developing readings of literary texts that situate them in revolutionary context out of which they emerged, and to which they contributed in turn. Recovery of sense of how literary and extra-literary texts emerged in common relationship; development of deeper understanding of nature of Romanticism itself. Readings from work of Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Southey, Austen, Byron, Keats, Wollstonecraft, and others. May not be repeated for credit. P/NP or letter grading.
