Seminar, three hours. Research seminar on selected topics. Readings of biography and autobiography as elements of East Asian cultural traditions, with focus rotating between China, Japan, and Korea. Readings in English and relevant East Asian languages, discussion, and development of culminating project. May be repeated for credit. Letter grading.
