Class structure:
2 song entries due every 2 weeks ~200-300 words
one midterm given a week to do: 2 short response 200-300 words and one essay ~1000words, we had an extra credit prompt too 200-300 words
final was a ~20min long interview with someone else who has had a different experience with music and gender than you.
This has got to be one of the easiest As I've ever gotten, with a 99.57%, even while I suck at english and writing. As long as you write something relating to gender and music in the song reviews, midterm, and final youre good.
Discussions are mandatory and lectures are not. read a lil to get a bit more context for midterm but you dont really need it for anything other than the midterm. i prolly spent two to three hours every two weeks for the songs and about 10hrs for the final (spread across a week, but i suck at writing). final took me about an hour to think of ideas and record, and an additional hour to cut it to around 24 min.
dont take this class if you feel the ideas of intersectionality and/or privilege annoy you, thats literally the only thing the class talks about. Easy A though and very light commitment otherwise.
