Lecture, two and one half hours. Philosophy and policy applications of harm reduction approaches to legal (including prescription) and illegal psychoactive drug use in U.S. and elsewhere. Visions and obstacles for future management of psychoactive drugs such as opioids, stimulants, psychedelics, and benzodiazepines according to harm reduction principles. Implications for social work practice across lifespan. Letter grading.
