Topics include early Chinese civilization, historical development of Chinese society, issues of ethnicity, Chinese language and philosophy, and early scientific and technological innovation.     Best part of this class was my TA Victoria--though she wasn't familiar with Chinese civilization (is a Japanese studies grad student who was given this class), she took the time to research and learn a lot about it, and was an excellent resource for us. Further, I generally liked Li's lectures, though they were slightly long. Our class was entirely online, which I think made the class slightly less engaging than it could've been
