Surro is a great professor, but his tests are really hard. You're going to learn a lot from his class, however, and he teaches a lot of upper div econ classes so it might be worthwhile to struggle a bit in this class so you do better later.
Tough workload, lots of practice material
Good professor, did everything he needed and presented a comprehensive guide for getting an A in the class. Material is not easy but can be done.
The class was alright overall.
He could be more engaging.
I liked how clearly Surro outlined every topic, but the material itself is difficult to grasp. I recommend going to office hours as he helps extremely well during then.
This class was pretty hard mainly because of how competitive it was amongst other students. Surro is a great professor but this class can really get under your skin. Study hard and take this class seriously and you should be okay.
You definitely have to put in the effort for this class, as it's practically only graded through the midterm and final. However, Surro does curve a bit and counts problem sets and quizzes as sort of extra credit, and it gives you something to practice with, so it's not as bad as it sounds. I would definitely recommend reading the materials thoroughly, though.
The lectures are good. But midterm had a limited of time.
Prof Surro is an amazing professor! His lectures are clear, organized, and provides many practice problems. You do need to put in a lot of effort to receive a good grade. It is not a class that you can play catch up with. The exams are tough because of the time constraint, but the more you practice and utilize the extensive resources the professor provides the better you will be at timing during the exams. Professor Surro provides all previous exam questions and exams follow similar style and difficulty level.
