I stopped going to lectures after week 1. A mask combined with his accent and a poor mic setup meant it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying in class. On the bright side, he recognized that and so he started posting youtube videos of lecture content the day before (where it was much easier to understand). He held review sessions before exams, and the exams had almost the exact same questions as those sessions (with different numbers ofc). Both were based on homework questions so you don’t really need to attend review sessions if you know how to do the homework. The only thing annoying is that he loves assigning the “further insights and challenges” questions on the homework, which sometimes took me hours to figure out and other times I just gave up.
Koffi had good Bruinwalk reviews so I took him. Worst mistake ever. Very disorganized and I self taught via textbook to barely scrape by. As a third year it’s the only class I didn’t do well in at UCLA.
Lectures weren't super clear but the textbook and slides helped. Tests weren't too bad.
the lectures were confusing but the midterms and finals were manageable if you watch the review sessions
Lectures were behind because professor got distracted, would recommend the textbook and tons of self-study.
Easy tests, but he is very unorganized. Not very clean in lectures. Likes to teach proofs and theorems.
Very easy class as long as you do the homework and attend the review sessions. There is a lot of homework but it is manageable, and the tests are definitely a lot easier than many of the homework problems. His tests will often be like the questions in his review sessions, so definitely attend those. I would recommend asking TAs or other classmates for help with the homework problems you can't do. Koffi himself was very nice and did his own discussions during the TA strike. He also will offer extensions on homework if you ask for them, which helped reduce a lot of stress throughout the quarter.
koffi is a sweet dude but his class was just super scrappy and all over the place
he assigns an absurd amount of homework but at least his exams were very easy
worst prof of my life
got upset at the whole class over a comment one student made and wanted us to suffer the consequences.
Enakoutsa is hard to understand because of his accent and his handwriting is illegible to me (very cursive), so I depended entirely on the textbook to get me through. His homework can be hard sometimes when he takes questions from the latter part of the textbook questions, but his exams are fairly easy because he does review sessions where he goes over questions that are similar to the ones that will be on the exam. You'll be even more set if you can find his past exams as those are similar year to year.
