A really great start to learning Korean! I feel like the pace of this class is really good. I didn't think I'd be able to learn how to read and write Korean that quickly, but it's more intuitive than you'd think and Professor Im is really good at explaining the pronunciation and sounds. The course was offered online which made it a little bit less engaging for me, but Professor Im did a great job in adapting the course. Participation in discussions is required, which is honestly not that bad because it's good to actually speak Korean to practice and learn it. The group project, oral exams, and written exams are alright – you'll know exactly what you're getting into, so everything is fair and the grading is generous. That last sentence makes this class seem like a lot of work, but it's not really hard – maybe 2-3 hours/week.
