Film TV 4 is one of the best GE classes at UCLA. Only thing that's bad about it is the extremely long lectures, but you really only have to watch 2 of the movies shown, so you can write about them.
class is paced very well and the readings are very interesting
this class was my favorite that I've taken at UCLA!!! absolutely would recommend - an easy A that's super fun and interesting!
Lectures are long but that's because it's composed of the actual lecture material and watching the movie. Weekly quizzes during the discussion section and questions were either based on the film itself or the readings. During the quarter I took this class, films were based on the theme of "heist films" and they were all pretty different and interesting. Midterm and final were papers. The professor gave extra credit if you turned in proof you voted for elections.
