Mathematics for Life Scientists
Lecture, three hours; laboratory, two hours. Preparation: three years of high school mathematics (to algebra II), some basic familiarity with computers. Mathematical modeling as tool for understanding dynamics of biological systems. Fundamental concepts of single-variable calculus and development of single- and multi-variable differential equation models of dynamical processes in ecology, physiology, and other subjects in which quantities change with time. Use of free computer program Sage for problem solving, plotting, and dynamical simulation in laboratory. Letter grading.

Eric comes off as a very passionate professor, and tries to make his lectures as engaging as possible. He makes sure that students understand concepts and encourages questions. As long as you put in your own effort, your grade in this class will reflect that.
BEST professor ever. He is super nice, funny, kind, and knowledgeable. He even hosts review sessions in person and teaches at them compared to a TA. The class itself is difficult and includes coding, which is unnecessary in my opinion. The addition of coding to the math itself confused me a lot, and I didn't get the grade I'd like to achieve. The class is bad, but the professor is amazing.
Honestly, the class does not feel like a math class, the coding could be annoying but overall fine.
It is an easy GE, entailing a little bit of calculus, science, and python. If you consider yourself a STEM person this class would be really easy for you. The content is pretty easy to understand, I literally did not pay much attention in lecture and self studied the presentations few days before the exams. Professor also offered a lot of supports and study sessions to students struggling. However, a downside of this course is the lab and homework, they are pretty long considering the fact that the content is easy. Personally, I do not enjoy the discussion section because we have a lot of codings and it just does not make sense to me, glad it is not on our exams.
